This store is situated in a historical building at a prominent corner in the heart of downtown Toronto. Formerly part of the Hudson's Bay department store and an entrance to the Queen Street subway station, the space was reinvented as key component of the first Saks Fifth Avenue store in Canada. The project was built under a very rigorous construction schedule and required meticulous planning to coincide with the grand opening of Saks. dkstudio worked closely with the project team to re-build a new floor slab and infill brand new storefront windows that honour the heritage design. The result features four stunning facade windows with elegant new awnings.
